Privacy Policy

MilHousing Playbook™ ("we", "us") helps military families plan PCS housing decisions. We respect your privacy and only collect what we need to deliver scenario modeling, account management, and customer support. We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly and limited technical data needed to run the service:
- Account information. Email, password (hashed), display name, and authentication tokens.
- Profile inputs. Branch, rank, dependents, duty location, and other PCS context you enter.
- Compensation and financial inputs. Base pay, BAH, allowances, expected mortgage rates, and similar values you enter for scenario modeling.
- Scenario data. Saved scenarios, comparisons, recalculation history, and notes.
- Payment records. Plan tier, purchase date, and expiration. Card details are handled by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number.
- Support interactions. Messages, feedback, attachments, and the email address you contact us from.
- Technical data. Device type, browser, and basic analytics needed to keep the app reliable.
2. How we use your information
- Run the calculators and store the scenarios you choose to save.
- Authenticate you and protect your account.
- Process Premium purchases and apply the correct access window.
- Send transactional email (account activity, premium expiration reminders, support replies).
- Improve product reliability and accuracy of compensation tables.
Your financial inputs are used only for scenario modeling inside your account. They are not used for advertising, scoring, or resale.
3. Cookies and session handling
We use first-party cookies and secure session tokens to keep you signed in and remember preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
4. Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which features are used and to detect errors. Analytics events do not include the values of your financial inputs.
5. Payment processing (Stripe)
Premium purchases are processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe receives the information necessary to charge your card and confirm the transaction. We receive only the result (success/failure), the plan purchased, and a transaction reference. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
6. Email communications
We may email you for: account activity, password resets, premium receipts, premium expiration reminders, and material changes to the service. You can opt out of non-essential email at any time.
7. Support interactions
When you contact fern.rootllc@gmail.com or submit feedback, we store your message and any attachments so we can respond and improve the product.
8. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with vetted infrastructure providers (hosting, database, email delivery, payment processing) acting on our behalf, or when required by law.
9. Data retention & account deletion
Saved scenarios and profile data are retained so you can resume during your next PCS cycle. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing fern.rootllc@gmail.com. We will confirm and complete deletion within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for tax/payment records.
10. Security
We use industry-standard authentication, hashed passwords, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and row-level database security so your account data is only accessible to you and authorized administrators.
11. Children
MilHousing Playbook™ is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app notice.
